The Walter J. Thackray Memorial Scholarship: What You Need to Know

Thackray Crane Rental, Inc., in partnership with The Philadelphia Foundation, is proud to introduce the Walter J. Thackray Scholarship in memory of our company’s co-founder and beloved family patriarch, Walter J. Thackray.

Thackray Crane Rental, Inc. does more than just supply rigging equipment to NJ, PA, and DE builders. We also give back to the community, following in the footsteps of our founders.

Below, you will learn all about Walter J. Thackray and the scholarship established in his name. We will also explain eligibility requirements for applicants and how you can apply.

First things first:

Who was Walter J. Thackray?

Walter J. Thackray co-founded Thackray Crane Rental, Inc. back in 1947 with his wife, Anna Cassalia Thackray. Their values of honesty, integrity, and family helped shape the company into the organization it is today.

Walter was known for giving back to the community and helping improve the lives of those around him. Sadly, he passed in 2010, but, through this scholarship, his family looks to continue his legacy of helping to grow the community for years to come.
