Thackray Crane was selected to support JP Morgan Chase with the dismantling and replacement of rooftop cooling towers at their Walnut Street building in Wilmington, DE. This high-profile project required a turnkey lifting and logistics solution capable of handling oversized equipment in a dense urban environment.

The Challenge

• Rooftop cooling towers needed to be removed and replaced safely in a confined city setting.

• Access was restricted by a courtyard containing multiple trees, which had to be cleared before crane setup.

• The weight and footprint of a 500-ton crane required extensive ground matting and site preparation.

The Solution

Thackray deployed its 500-ton all-terrain crane with luffing jib, operated by an NCCCO-certified crane operator, to achieve the reach and capacity required for the lifts. Our services included:
